Having access to LanSchool really has helped me be able to take control of my job. I'm the school library media specialist at Hillcrest High School. I use LanSchool and I wouldn't be able to do my job without it. My day with LanSchool is much easier. I can come in and not have to worry about making sure everybody is on task. The blank screen feature is very useful. It helps eliminate distractions. A message that you can choose will come across the screen. I often use look up at the board. The students are unable to use their computers for the duration of the teachers presentation. Monitoring screens is one of the main benefits. If they're behind on project, we can see it. We can go out there and help them. The teacher can do a thumbnail view so that they can see what's going on on the student computers. Or details view. Limiting the web feature really helps them to only use the online databases. The internet has a lot of good resources on it. Certain teachers need to limit a specific area so that students stay on task. You don't have to worry about turning your back and having those other students go off on places that you don't want them to be. The Limit app feature really lets the student only use the applications that they should be on. You can make sure that everybody is where you want them to be. You can limit their application access. The feature voting gives you the opportunity as the teacher to ask students questions. Teachers, after they have taught a specific concept, they will send out a question to all the students.  Whether its true/false or multiple choice. This way, when your trying to teach a concept, you can immediately know if students are getting it. If a student gets off task, the can send that student a message. It may be, "Get on task and do what you're supposed to do." T show students screen is useful when one student in particular is doing something fabulous. I can show everyone else what this particular student is doing so that they have a good example to look at. It's great reinforcement for the student demoing and it is also a great learning tool for the other students that are observing. One of my favorite features is to show my teacher screen. The teacher can push their screen out to all the students and the students then see the teacher screen. Yeah I mean it just makes helping the students so much easier. LanSchool makes so much difference as far as the classroom management. LanSchool especially gives us a lot of control and makes teaching a lot easier. LanSchool really gives me the confidence to be able to be a great librarian. I think LanSchool is a great benefit to education. It makes your teacher-student interaction much easier. With LanSchool it has just been such an amazing experience.
