Congratulations to 2004 Byron High School graduate Chris French for qualifying for the 2023 PGA Championships in Rochester, New York this weekend, May 18-21. 

Chris, a standout golfer for Byron High School, contributed to four top-ten finishes in the IHSA Class A state meet: 3rd Place, 2000; 4th place, 2001; 7th place, 2002; and 4th place, 2003.  As an individual, Chris placed in the top 25 at the state meet three times, with is highest finish being 10th his senior year.  After graduating from Byron High, Chris attended and played golf for Rock Valley College where he became a two-time All-American and national runner-up for the Golden Eagles.  For the last several years, Chris has been the golf pro at Aldeen Golf Course in Rockford, Il.
