Illinois law (Lawn Care Products Application and Notification Act) requires all school districts to notify students and staff when lawn care chemicals are being used in or around school facilities.
Please be aware that weather permitting, weed control and fertilization of the Byron High School varsity athletic fields as well as the front of each school will occur on Saturday, October 10, and Sunday, October 11, 2026.
We are committed to minimizing the use of chemicals for weed control and lawn care, but at times, it is necessary for the proper maintenance of the facility. If you have any questions about the application of the lawn fertilizer, please contact the Director of Buildings and Grounds (815) 234-5491 Ext 4300.

On Friday the 18th, 6th graders spent their community day delivering cards and candy to various community workers around Byron, including the fire station, post office, police, and auto repair shops! They finished off their day competing in a flex team building competition where Mrs. Spence’s flex claimed the trophy! Great job 6th graders!

The 2026-2027 School Year busing information is now available in Skyward. To access, go to your student(s) in Skyward, click on Portfolio on the left side of screen, then click Bus Schedule Live, and lastly click View Reports.
There have been many changes to bus routes for this school year due to the shortage in bus drivers.
Please make sure to pay special attention to pickup/drop off times, and bus #s as these could have changed for your student(s).
