On Friday, August 1st, we will be performing a cleanup along the bike path on the north side of the high school. This work will involve the removal of shrubs, plants, weeds, and general overgrowth in the area. We kindly ask that you use caution when in or around this section of the campus during the cleanup. Our goal is to make the path safer, more passable, and free of excessive vegetation.

As many of you are aware, there has been a lot of work taking place throughout Byron School District 226 this summer. I’d like to take a moment to update you on some projects that will affect the bike path, as well as upcoming dates that will affect access to those areas.
Please refer to the attached map for highlighted sections showing where work is occurring:
• Bike Path (Yellow Highlight): Beginning Tuesday, July 29th, the bike path will be seal-coated. This work will take place Tuesday and Wednesday, with completion expected by July 30th.
• Bike Path Striping: On Thursday, July 31st, striping will be added to the bike path.
- Please refrain from using the bike path on July 29th and 30th to allow crews to complete the work safely and efficiently. Bike path will be ready for foot traffic on July 31st.
• Pavilion Construction (Blue Highlight): Work has also started on a new pavilion, located between baseball/softball fields 1, 2, 3, and 4. This area is marked in blue on the attached map. This will affect the walking path in this area.
• Soccer Stadium Bleachers (Red Highlight): A concrete pad and bleachers are being installed at the soccer stadium. This will affect the bike path area marked in red on the map.
We kindly ask that you use caution around all construction areas and avoid restricted zones, when possible, to ensure everyone’s safety.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as these improvements are completed.

We would like to inform you that beginning Monday, July 21st, construction will begin at the Mary Morgan Elementary School playground.
As part of the improvements, the grass area surrounding the playground will be replaced with artificial turf. Attached is a picture with the construction area highlighted in orange. This project is expected to take approximately three to four weeks to complete.
For the safety of everyone, the playground will be closed and fenced off during construction. We kindly ask that all students, families, and community members refrain from using the playground during this time.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to enhance our outdoor spaces for the students and community.

Please use caution when utilizing the bike path in that area during this time.
