The make-up date for the middle school volleyball camp that was missed on Monday will be TOMORROW, Friday, March 20th. 6th – 8th grade will be 3:15-4:15 and 4th – 5th grade will be 4:30-5:30.
The next Outdoor Adventure Club outing will be to Urban Air Trampoline Park in Crystal Lake, Illinois TOMORROW, Friday, March 20th from 3:00 – 8:30 p.m. Cost is $30.00 and includes admission, 2 slices of pizza and a bottle of water for supper. Snacks are also available at the park for an additional cost. Registration is now closed for this trip. [NOTE – WAIVERS ARE REQUIRED BY URBAN AIR.]
Student Council is hosting a "Pie A Teacher" fundraiser to benefit Rockford Rescue Mission. Jars will be set up March 18th-March 27th outside of the gym each morning. The teacher who receives the most money in their jar will be selected to be pied on March 27th at the spirit assembly. Help us raise money for a great cause & pie some staff members!
8th Grade Students who signed up for choir next year - Auditions are being held for those interested in Treble Choir. Auditions run Tuesday, March 23rd thru Thursday, March 26th before and after school. For more information and to sign up for a time, please email Mr. Jaworowski.
The next art club meeting will be Tuesday, March 24th from 3:00-4:00 p.m. in the art room. Sign up in the Office if you would like to attend. All students are welcome!
FFA will be having a meeting next Tuesday, March 24th, after school from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the ag room. We will continue practicing for livestock judging with a guest appearance by Mr. Tryggestad.
The next Builders Club meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 25th from 3:00 – 4:00 in room 601. This is a change from the March 20th originally scheduled. Bring one gently used book to go into the little library we are building for our Global project. The book can be of any reading level.
Coach Boyer is having a Boys Baseball Byron Tiger Youth Baseball Camp on Monday, March 30th and Tuesday, March 31st from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Cost is $30.00 and includes a camp t-shirt. Checks must be payable to BYRON HIGH SCHOOL. Registration deadline is Wednesday, March 18th. Forms were sent home with students, but there are additional ones in the office, if needed.
Young American Poetry Digest’s 2026 competition has begun! Here is your chance to become a published poet! All forms of poetry are accepted, but they highlight “haiku” poetry. A panel of educators will select poems to be published in the 32nd edition of Young American Poetry Digest and a free copy of this book will be mailed to our BMS library. Submit your handwritten or typed (you may also email mrieck@byron226.org) poetry to Miss Rieck by April 6th. If you have any questions stop in the library during your flex time.

Track season is finally here! The first official practice for boys and girls track is next Wednesday, March 25th at the middle school from 3:15-4:45. That will be the only mandatory practice before spring break and then we will start daily practices from 3:15-4:45 on April 7th when school resumes. We are offering some optional conditioning practices this Thursday and Friday from 3:15-4:15 at the middle school as well as some TBA practices next week depending on the weather.
