Public Notice from Byron CUSD #226
Proposed Playground
Click on the Playground Area link to view the site of the proposed playground as well as the proposed building addition of Mary Morgan. 
 

  The Playground Committee for Mary Morgan has been working on designs for a playground that could be erected near the start of the school year.  Although there has not been an official decision made about DreamWorks, a group of parent volunteers thought it was necessary to start discussing options for playground equipment now so that the children and our community will have something to play on as close to  the beginning of the school year as possible.  Part of the proposal is to host a Community Build which will allow families of this community the ability to be directly involved with building this structure

 Life Safety Report
The Byron School District, as part of its recent Health Life Safety Survey, had samples of the playground equipment, and the soil under the playground equipment, analyzed by an independent laboratory in the Chicago area.

    Walk-in registration is closed.

    MS $40
    MM $25

    No extracurricular participation fees at the HS and MS.

    Activity passes have also been eliminated.

     



    New Board of Education Officers Elected
    From the District Office
    Byron's New Board Members   The Byron Board of Education elected new officers at its recent organizational meeting. Six year board member, Dirk Meminger, was elected the new president. Mr. Meminger is the president and CEO of Sauk Valley Bank. Deb Eisfeller was elected as vice-president. Mrs. Eisfeller, a ten year board veteran, is vice-president/loan review manager for Alpine Bank in Rockford. Elise O'Hare was elected secretary. Mrs. O'Hare is in her third year as a member of the Board of Education. She is a registered nurse at Rockford Memorial Hospital.



    Resolution to Withdraw from OCEC

    The Byron School District Board of Education passed a resolution on March 19, 2009, taking the other member districts of the Ogle County Educational Cooperative (OCEC) to task for being unwilling to negotiate a withdrawal agreement with the Byron District. read more...
