The Byron Booster Association (BBA) is an organization that recently formed to help support and enhance our student athletes and other school sponsored activities. This letter has been prepared to help create awareness of our organization and to let the community know the purpose of the BBA.

The mission of the Byron Booster Association is to foster, expand and perpetuate interest in all school sponsored activities, athletic or otherwise, and encourage the spirit of good sportsmanship, fellowship and community. The BBA recognizes that Byron has some time honored traditions and aims to respect these and hopefully create new traditions for our community. One main goal of the BBA is to help reduce the number of fundraisers that our community members are subjected to on an annual basis. The BBA recognizes that while these fundraisers are integral to the programs that are running them, they can also be taxing on the overall community. It is the hope of the BBA that by hosting a few larger community-minded fundraisers, as well as building a membership and alumni organization that support all activities, there will no longer be the need for the number of fundraisers that currently exist in our community.

The Byron Booster Association is an Illinois Non-Profit corporation and has filed the appropriate paperwork for 501(c)3 taxexempt status with the Internal Revenue Service allowing for tax-deductible contributions. The organization has developed a clear set of by-laws and has recently formed the inaugural board membership by electing officers and directors. The BBA is open to all that are interested in supporting any and all activities at the middle and high school level, whether they are athletic or academic.

The board of the Byron Booster Association feels strongly that this is a worthwhile endeavor and is open to any and all suggestions and comments. If you are interested in becoming involved with our organization or would like additional information, please contact us at [email protected].

Sincerely,
Chad Nelson, President
