Byron Community School District #226

Dr. James Hammack Announces Retirement From Byron CUSD 226

Dear Byron Community Unit School District 226 Board members, Staff members, Students, Parents/Guardians, and Community Members:

I am writing this statement to inform you that I will retire from my service as Superintendent when my employment contract expires on June 30, 2018.  Following my retirement from the Byron CUSD 226 and the State of Illinois, it is my intention to continue in leadership work as a Superintendent to a school district in another state or overseas.

Thank you for providing me with the fine privilege to serve as Superintendent of Schools.  I have so enjoyed my work for the District and I am extremely proud of the District’s accomplishments on behalf of students, parents, staff, and community members in all areas including teaching and learning, special services, support services, activities, finance, buildings and grounds, and policy.  On both professional and personal levels, I have been highly fortunate to have worked for the Byron CUSD 226.  I will never forget this tremendous opportunity to lead such a fine school district.

I look forward to another great year in 2017-2018.

With gratitude,

Dr. James Hammack

Superintendent
